Wanna Play?

My sister-in-law and sister are playing this game and I didn't want to be left out.

Lucky you!

The first FIVE people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year. (might be a little while)
4- You have no clue what it's going to be.It may be a story. It may be poetry, shoes, bags, or a little invention of my own! I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. Believe me... it may blow your mind!

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!
Sounds like fun, right?

So, let's play!

Just for clarification, I will not be sending a story, a poem, a drawing or a painting. That would just be to scary, for you. But I'll come up with something.

Too much Cars

We watch the movie Cars way to much at our house. This is how I know:

Jer: Why does the crew chief wear a head set, but the car doesn't have to.
Me: (patronizing smile)
Jer: That's a legitimate question!
Me: No, it's not, it's a children's movie.
(5 minutes later)
Jer: Theoretically, the cars can reproduce.
Me: Yes, I guess so
Jer: So if you were born a race car, your destined to be a race car. But what if you were born a tow truck but really wanted to be a race car, you have no choice.

The best part about this is that this type of conversation is a regular occurance at our house.

Snow Boots

We came home from Christmas with a ton of snow and spent a lot of time out in the snow shoveling. I decided JJ needed snow boots. As it turns out, January is not the time to buy snow boots. Target only had a few and not in JJ's size. Walmart didn't have any and Payless had one pair for $35! I found a pair online, in his size, but if I spent $12 more I could get free shipping. What is a mom to do. Well, this mom found those red Lightning McQueen crocs that had previously been denied and now my spoiled little boy has two pairs of shoes that he loves. Jer kindly pointed out that the shipping would have been less than the $12 I spent on the shoes, but that's not the point. I have assuaged my guilt over not buying him something he wanted and he adores those shoes. Plus I paid for a product and not shipping, I hate paying shipping.

So Lucky

Conversation from yesterday.

JJ: That's my mommy (said while smooshing me)
Me: I'm your mommy!?!
JJ: So Lucky

Yes, yes I am so lucky.

Family Photos

One of my neighbors is a photographer and she took our family pictures. Besides the one we sent in our Christmas cards, here are a few of my favorites.

I know there is someway to put a slide show on a blog so I'm going to have to figure out how to do that and post some more of the photo shoot.

Catch a Rabbit

This is another pre-Christmas event with kitchen items (see previous post). He got the strainer and started running around swinging it in the air yelling, "catch a rabbit, catch a rabbit" and then bringing the strainer to me so could take the rabbit out.
I have no idea where he got the idea that nets catch things and really, a rabbit? Later on in the evening he was doing the same thing only catching tigers. I tried to explain that usually you catch butterflies, but he had other ideas.
He has also used the strainer for catching bees. Weird kid.
