3rd Birthday

We celebrated JJ's birthday in AZ. This is him showing you that he is 3.
We started the morning with balloons and Dunkin' Donuts.
The we went back to the train museum; he just couldn't get enough.
Lunch was his very favorite: chicken nuggets and french fries and root beer at Chick-fil-A.After a quick nap it was time to open presents. We tried to sing Happy Birthday to him, but he hadn't completely woken up yet, so he started crying and asked us to stop. So we stopped the festivities and had a snuggle until he was ready. He was completely spoiled and so happy.
Dinner was another favorite: pizza.
We got his cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes. If you haven't tried one, see if there is one near you.
They have mini cakes to try so you don't have to commit to anything big. Their cream cheese frosting is the best. I got a little Thomas the tank cake topper and he was content.
We celebrated with local family when we got home. I posted earlier about the cake incident:

and he just had fun with his cousins the rest of the evening.

JJ is so much fun right now. He has a great imagination and a really good memory, which combine to make very funny situations. He will insert lines and phrases from movies and books into our everyday situations. It just makes me laugh. He has also started making up songs about the things he is doing. He is about 2 inches too tall for his 2T pants, but they are still way too big around the waist, I have to cinch them up. He loves to dig, use tools, paint and draw, and read. He said his first full prayer without ant prompts the other day. He is just so wonderful and he tries to be so helpful He loves his brother and is so sweet and kind to him. He still loves Cars and Thomas the Train, and his visit to AZ renewed his interest in Winnie the Pooh. But the happiest day he could imagine is one spent outside, doing all his favorite outdoor activities, digging, jumping on a trampoline, riding his bike, swinging, sliding, and blowing bubbles.

He is such a funny little guy! I can't believe he's 3 already! Time flies (especially when you're not the one changing diapers, getting up at night, etc...)
